Previous summers, a large marque would be erected to cover most of the beer garden. But it wasn't ideal, as it took a lot of effort to get it up, worries about the wind while it was up, and then again a lot of effort to get it down and pack it up. And it wasn't the best environment to be watching a band on our big stage. So we started looking for something better. It took us almost a year to find this great solution.
Now the area between the tavern and the stage is covered with a "shade structure" ... a roof over our beer garden, with room for 2000 people. We got it finished in time for the bands at Christmas 2006.
