Camping:
In previous years, it was the tradition to camp onsite at the back of the tavern. However, this is no longer possible. Camping sites are available in the area. Check our Camping Info web page, in the "About Us" area. Our courtesy buses will do pick-ups and drop-offs to some of the local camping sites.

Parking:
Parking will not be available on the Tavern premises.
Change of location for parking:
Previously, it was the farm across the road, now the farm just down the Tapu Road will be providing parking for the Labour Weekend and Christmas / New Year events. You can stay there overnight, note that you must leave the next day.
10 Nov 2009 - UPDATE: This year the parking will again be at the farm across the road. The farmer needs to make preparations, which mean the new site will be available for use sometime in 2010.
You can park, and also stay overnight, and can set up a tent for the night. Porta Loos will be available. There will also be a skip for your rubbish, please tidy your parking area when you leave. The parking site will be patrolled by a security team.
Parking at the farm is weather dependant - let's hope that the week leading up to the band night is sunny and dry !!!

Please car pool with friends, but preferably, make use of our bus services. Parking is a problem here. When parking on country roads, please do not block driveways or farm access. Park as far off the road as you can. You must ensure that two lanes of traffic can pass between your vehicle and the one parked on the other side of the road.
Be careful when walking to the tavern, especially when crossing the one-lane bridge.

NEW: our local council has implemented a new by-law against "wild camping". This means that if you camp overnight on the side of the road, or on a reserve, you will be fined $40. If you have parked on the side of the road to attend our event, you MUST return to your vehicle and drive away. You can not sleep in your car on the side of the road. We strongly suggest that you use the farm parking, or Riverglen, or travel from the local communities using Paradise Cabs transport.

Litter:
You will be parking on a country road, in a very green natural environment. Please be friendly to our environment. When you leave, please take your rubbish with you, and deposit it in a suitable refuse container in a town or at your home.

Bus/Taxi Info
For all events buses will be organised by Paradise Cabs (based in Whitianga). They will have buses running to / from Whitianga, Cooks Beach, Hahei, and Tairua. They will also pick-up from the Sea Breeze Cabins.
For all events, the Tavern's courtesy buses will be running to River Glen Camping, and other local pick-ups.
Contact Paradise Cabs for more details, and to book. (Call this contact number for Band Nights - 027 213 8587 )

R18
Minimum age for this event is 18. (If you look under 20, please bring IDs)
Previously, we allowed persons under 18 years of age to be present if accompanied by their parents or a legal guardian. But, due to abuse of this, we now strictly enforce the R18 rule.

Coroglen Tavern Venue Info:
Two-thirds of the arena area is covered.

Please note that footwear is compulsory. We don't care what it is, but please, no bare feet or jandals. There will be glass on the ground.
Entry WILL be refused if you do not have suitable footwear.

Q.  What am I not allowed to bring into the Tavern?
A.  You are entering licensed premises, so you can not bring your own drink or food onto the premises. Photography is prohibited so do not bring your camera. Audio recordings are also not permitted. And please, no umbrellas. We have no provision to check them in so you will need to get rid of these items or take them back to your car.

If you purchased your tickets on-line (from Ticketek or Nikau Rhythm), with the option to collect them "from the venue", please realise that you will collect your tickets from the promoter, NOT from the Tavern. Expect to be in a slow moving queue !!!

Check the back of your ticket for restricted items and conditions.

The Security Team will ask to check your bags as you enter. Any prohibited items will be removed, or you can return them to your car.

Note: there are no pass-outs. If you choose to leave the venue, you will not be able to return.

Alcohol:
The Coroglen Tavern Band Nights are held on Licensed Premises, so all the standard rules apply, as with any pub or tavern. You can't bring your own alcohol onto the premises, and any drinks that you purchase on site can't be taken with you when you leave. (We do have an Off Licence, on normal nights it closes at 11pm. On Band Nights we do NOT operate our Off Licence.)
Intoxicated people will be denied entry to the premises and also onto the courtesy vans and buses bringing you to the premises. Should anyone become intoxicated during the evening, then the bar staff will not be allowed to serve you alcoholic drinks.

Coro Bucks
On Band Nights, our Bars and Kitchen only accept Coro Bucks, no cash, or EFTPOS. Coro Bucks are special plastic "tokens" that are only valid here at the Tavern on Band Nights.
1 Coro Buck = $2
They are sold in strips of 10 which is $20 for each strip.
Only Coro Bucks can be used to purchase drink, food, pack tobacco, etc.
Coro Bucks can be purchased in advance from the Tavern Bar, or from one of the Coro Bucks sales points in the Beer Garden during the Band Night.
Coro Bucks can be purchased with cash, EFTPOS, Visa, and MasterCard. No cheques accepted.
No refunds on Coro Bucks...... BUT you can use them on any of the Band Nights, and also at the Tavern during the week after the last Band night.
Best idea is to buy only what you need for the night.
Don't fold or mutilate the tokens - that will make them invalid.
Note: we now have a cigarette machine, so you will need cash to purchase cigarettes. This is the ONLY exception - everything else requires Coro Bucks.

Safety:
Don't presume that the laws of the real world don't apply to the Band Night. Anyone caught holding or dealing illegal substances will be treated the same way as anywhere else.
Excessive use of mind altering substances of any kind including alcohol can result in the night changing from fantastic to a nightmare in a very short amount of time. Don't forget you need to get home after the show & an ambulance isn't the best or cheapest way to do so. Don't be afraid to tell us if something is going wrong, we only want to help you, not judge you.

Crowd surfing, moshing & circle dancing are dangerous activities & will not be tolerated. Offenders will be removed from the site.

Please consider others as well as your own safety, especially in front of the stage. If someone falls down or is in distress please help them if you can or let the Security Team know so we can help. It's meant to be a fun night, let's make sure it is.

We do have an ambulance on site for our Band Nights. Speak to one of our security staff if you need medical assistance.

And we really do have to emphasize that you MUST have suitable footwear. There will be glass on the ground, so we will refuse entry to anyone with bare feet or jandals.
