We have a bistro type kitchen, serving fried food, toasted sandwiches, burgers and meals. We have a special kids menu. The kitchen also provides food to the Coroglen School each Friday lunchtime. Easter to November, we do a roast dinner on Wednesday nights. On special occasions, we dig a hole in the backyard and do a hangi, or we can also do a spit pig. On very special occasions, Gerrie slaves away in the kitchen all day, to produce an Asian style buffet dinner.

Our specialties are our steak based products - toasted sandwiches and burgers use 120g scotch fillet and the steak meal is 250g scotch fillet. Another speciality is the Naked Burger - you could call it a super burger served up on a plate, but without a bun. Our burgers are famous - they stand so high that its hard to believe that anyone could get their mouth around it ! And our meals are enormous - most people can't believe their eyes, and say I'll never be able to get through all that - but most plates do come back empty. The catering supply companies have a problem - they can't supply us the plates (they call them serving dishes). We inherited this problem, and so far, the only reliable supplier is the Warehouse !!

All our food can also be ordered for take-away. A very popular service on Friday and Saturday nights.

During the summer band nights season, we open early to serve breakfast for all the campers in the farm across the road. Bacon and eggs, and the All Day Breakfast are very popular on those days. On the actual band nights, the kitchen serves a subset of our normal menu, and usually the kitchen closes long after the bar has closed.

Our kitchen is open 7 days a week, all day from 11 am through to 9 pm (8pm on Sundays and closed on Mondays in winter - May to September).

Fish Meal
We substitute the crumbed fish in our standard Fish Meal with the gluten free battered fish. (Please note that the gluten free fish portions are smaller than our crumbed fish product.)
Gluten Free "Burgers"
We serve our gluten free burgers "open" (no bun), with the Battered Meat Pattie substituting for the bun and the pattie. For example, you could choose a Hawaiian Burger, and you would get the gluten free Battered Meat Pattie, plus salad, and pineapple.
Or you can design your own meal, by adding items from our "Extras" list. This includes bacon, cheese, egg, tomato, onion, pineapple, and sour cream ! If you want a pattie plus salad, choose a Hamburger as your basic item, then add the rest.

Your choice of cooking method:

We can cook them in the deep fryer - but there could be slight traces of gluten there.

But, we could cook them in the oven, if you are zero tolerant. This will take longer, and depends on the staff having the time to do it, so please don't be upset if it takes a while to prepare.

Each product has a different batter, so if you don't like one, then next time try another.

Note: our Backpackers is fully booked for 28 - 29 December 2011. And also for 2 January 2012 and 28 - 29 January 2012. Other dates may be used for Band Nights in that period (we are awaiting confirmation from our promoter). So for now, we can not accept bookings between 27 December and 3 January.
